I wanted to thank Sequim-Dungeness Valley Editor Chris McDaniel for writing this article on Ms. Wheelchair Washington in the Peninsula Daily News. He pulled out a recorder, and I said, "oh no!You're going to record this interview? Now I am very nervous". He replied, "don't worry. You will forget about it". He was correct, I did forget about being recorded. It's
that time once again, time to crown an new Ms. Wheelchair WA!!
Over the past year I've had some exciting experiences, met some pretty
amazing people. A couple of things that stand out in my mind is
attending the Ravishing Women's Show in Seattle. All the beautiful
people inside and out, amazing food and gorgeous clothing etc. To be
asked to be a part of this show was such an honor.

It’s Dec. 31, 2014, what a year it has been. It’s had it’s
ups and downs like any other year. I know it’s been a while since I have
updated my posts so I thought I’d sum it all up in this post.
One of the highlights of this past year was competing in the
Ms. Wheelchair America pageant in Long Beach, CA. where I met a lot of very
inspiring people. Thought I did not win the title of Ms. Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-81982391221826957442014-05-20T19:14:00.003-07:002014-05-20T19:14:58.296-07:00Seattle Adaptive Sports!!!When I went to Seattle Mother's Day weekend my first stop right off the train was with Seattle Adaptive Sports playing basketball with everyone. For those who probably don't know I was a theatre actor for about 15 years before deciding to take another path in acting. I ventured into Voice-Over. The rejection and narrow-mindedness got to a point where I couldn't get ANY roles, but instead got a whole mess of excuses from directors. While being in Seattle this past weekend I ran my first workshop, an introduction to PPI Skin Illustrator product line. The workshop was a success and now there are plans being made for a series of workshops taught by me using these products. Words cannot describe how amazing life feels right now. I LOVE my jobs being a Special Makeup FX Artist and Voice Actor and now to add to that I get Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-55760224694067038242014-03-29T08:57:00.001-07:002014-03-29T08:57:05.657-07:00The Daily News
To have my story published in the local newspaper I have to
say was a pretty surreal experience.
Thank you so much for acknowledging my accomplishments within the Ms.

with disabilities and NOT a beauty pageant. It is an honor to be crowned Ms. Wheelchair Washington 2014!
I completely didn’t expect to be crowned my first time running. I just want to
say thank you to the Ms. Wheelchair Washington Program and ALL involved!! The
pageant on March 8th, 2014 was a day I will truly NEVER forget. Even
if I hadn’t won this title it was such an unforgettable experience, with unforgettable
people. I Love that Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-39855528550066672602014-03-17T20:24:00.000-07:002014-03-28T22:49:08.139-07:00King 5 News
I would like to thank King 5 News for providing me with the opportunity to do a live interview. Everyone was SO nice and inviting. The interview, though short, was a very awesome experience; I was in one of my favorite cities and on one of its major news stations. I really valued the gesture taken to get a group shot that can now lead to a lasting memory. I am
very much looking forward to whatNicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-45520985357443262942014-03-10T20:32:00.003-07:002014-03-10T20:32:47.251-07:00Jenny Adams Final Message
The time has come to crown the next Ms. Wheelchair Washington 2014! The Pageant was on Saturday March 8th, 2014. It was surreal to get ready that morning realizing that I had been there getting ready for the same event exactly 1 year ago. I have packed a lifetime of adventure into this year. Winning the title last year opened so many doors to share my message of “The Power of Words” in Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-79524469695686036752013-11-17T16:54:00.001-08:002013-11-17T16:54:55.353-08:00Olympic Elementary
I had the wonderful honor of a homecoming appearance as Ms. Wheelchair America in my hometown, Chehalis Washington. I shared a “Power of Words” presentation at my elementary Alma Mater Olympic Elementary. It was so surreal to be back in the hallways of my childhood. The assemble went amazing!!!! The kids were open and energized. The local Chronicle covered the story of my homecoming. It was Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-14262353142989929272013-11-13T16:34:00.002-08:002013-11-13T16:35:46.049-08:00Alabama and TenesseeMy tour as Ms. Wheelchair America brought me to Huntsville, Alabama and Chattanooga Tennessee. Ms. Wheelchair Alabama, Paula Montgomery and Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee, Bliss Welch hosted me on this amazing adventure.
The adventure started at the Mckinny Center in Huntsville Alabama, which is an employment center for people with disabilities. I was so overwhelmed with love from the clients of Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-25221758041915266162013-11-13T15:59:00.000-08:002013-11-13T15:59:11.059-08:00Salt Lake City
I was hosted as Ms.Wheelchair America in Ogden Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. I was only there for 48 hours, but it was a fun, action packed 48 hours. For starters I stayed in a quaint hotel, but it had a beautiful Koi pond behind it! That provided a place for relaxation and enjoyment. I also made a new and wonderful friend Former Ms. Wheelchair Utah 2012 Keli Babcock. She is a kindred Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-82340915566536378292013-11-13T15:52:00.000-08:002013-11-13T15:52:00.012-08:00White River High School
As Ms Wheelchair America I was invited as a guest speaker to White River High School in Buckley Washington. As a kid I use to go camping along White River all the time. This felt like destiny, full circle. I felt so honored by the staff and students for when I arrived they had a literal red carpet laid out for me!! The audience was a mixture of ages from Kindergarten to 12th grade, which Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-11646060549460384872013-11-02T22:28:00.000-07:002013-11-02T22:29:39.892-07:00Boise
I had an amazing trip as Ms. Wheelchair America to Boise, Id. I was there for four days. The first day I made an appearance to a kindergarten class. So fun!!!! Then my hostess took me to the Idaho Botanical Gardens, beautiful. The second day I spoke to a support group for parents with children with disabilities, which was a great treat because I really have a passion to speak to this audience Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-80968576281688556592013-11-02T22:16:00.001-07:002013-11-02T22:16:10.783-07:00Yakima
My trip to Yakima was really fun!! I spoke at the Youth Prevention Summit, which is an annual event where about 600 youth gathered for 3 days to receive teaching, inspiration, and mentoring in suicide and drug prevention in Washington. I was the final keynote speaker, which was such an honor. The crowd was energized and it gave me wings.Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725262040942522707.post-27703798607231072012013-10-21T12:33:00.003-07:002013-10-21T12:49:09.637-07:00Nashville
My Nashville tour was amazing!!! The first night I arrived I got to see the sights a bit. I had dinner with my colleagues at a delicious restaurant. Then I rolled down Broadway and saw live music. It was awesome! The next day I met with a State Legislator from Tennessee at National Seating and Mobility my colleague Ann Eubanks and I are meeting with legislators to pass a bill in Congress Nicole Martinihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788774031517301148noreply@blogger.com
